South Wales Blogger Meet Up

Hello Ladies I am so excited about announcing this...
There is going to be a South Wales Bloggers Meet Up! I have been dropping hints and telling you all to keep the 12th free but today we launched the sign up for (free) tickets  They are getting snapped up very quickly so if you want to attend you better be quick.

Register for South Wales Blogger Meet Up in Cardiff, United Kingdom  on Eventbrite

St David's are sponsoring the event which has been organised by myself and Chantelle.

The meet up will be on the 12th October in Cardiff.

The general plan is to meet up in the afternoon around 3pm to go for a coffee and have a good chat. We can then hit the shops in Cardiff, taking a look at the unique arcades and the new St David's centre.

At around 6pm we will head to the management suite in St David's for some drinks and a preview of what St David's has on offer for the festive period. There will be gift bags, opportunity to get your photo taken and more time to chat with all the lovely bloggers who attend the event.

Plus after todays meeting with Chantelle and the St David's PR team we have also confirmed you will be able to get a mini make over from the Kamigata team and there will be the chance to have some food after the event.
If you are unable to attend the day time (or night time) no worries you can just come to one or the other. Plus we are happy for other bloggers from outside South Wales to attend to, the more the merrier!

We hope to see you there!

Darling, you give love a bad name!

I had such a lovely time this weekend. It was my friend Sarah's hen night and I really got in to the spirit of it all. I don't normally drink much and I NEVER do fancy dress but I made an exception for Sarah.
We went for lunch and had cupcakes and a chat before the main festivities in the evening. The place we went to for lunch had bottomless chips, so bad when I'm trying to stick to my Where Are My Knees pledge.
There was an 80's fancy dress theme in the evening but I avoided leg warmers and went for a rock look which channelled Axl Rose and but the end of the night I looked like something from Twisted Sister and got my red lipstick everywhere.

I got all of the decorations, sashes and veil from lastnightoffreedom.co.uk

As you can see I was a bit of a mess by the end of the night which I blame on the cocktails in disco balls and pitchers of Long Island iced tea. I felt gross the next day and had 150 photo that I don't remember taking so a pretty good night out!

I made little party bags for all 26 girls, the 'survival kits' came in handy and I stuffed them with sweets and man rating stickers. I got everything I needed for the bags on eBay, they only cost about 80p per bag which I think is pretty good. They went down really well and a lot of the girls have kept the stickers as a keepsake.

Have you got any good hen night stories? Do you dread going out in fancy dress like me?

I Need A Dollar

Busy, busy, busy! I've got a hen night, wedding and course work dealine all coming up in the next few weeks so I'm enjoying a rare night reading blogs on my sofa with a cup of tea and my dog.
I went to work in the business library today, I don't normally work there so I thought I would make the effort and look smart so I went for an all black ensemble with a few details to jazz it up. My brother (my very own Nigel Barker) has gone on holiday to Greece so I've got some dodgy photos today. I really need to invest in a tripod, isn't my brother just plain rude?! how dare he go away without me and leave me without an official photographer ;)

Dress - H&M
Shoes - Peacocks
Belt -  Dorothy Perkins
Brooch - Accesorize
Cardigan - Evans

I really like this dress it was only about £20 but looks really nice in the flesh. I've got a selection of jazzy coloured tights and belts to wear with this dress to make it a little less formal. I'm also rather keen not to spend to much money on clothes at the moment and I think investing in some plain dresses is a good idea.

Have you all been out spending your student loan on new A/W clothes? I went into Cardiff today and it was packed with students splurging on new clothes. I popped into Urban Outfitters to see the Vivienne Westwood handbags, I had to tear myself away.

Hope you all have something lovely planned for this weekend!

P.S. keep the 12th of October free (all will be revealed shortly)

This Is Jinsy

It's been a very odd week, odd in a good way though. Two blogs that I write for have been nominated for a Cosmopolitan Blog Award. I'm am so excited by this-

The two blogs that are nominated are-

Where Are My Knees is nominated in the Health, Diet and Fitness category.

Judging Covers is nominated in the Lifestyle category.

If you do enjoy reading either of those blogs you could vote for them, maybe? If you have time?
If you did want to vote for either of them click the image below ;) I want to say a big THANK YOU to whoever nominated the blogs.

Sorry for the shameless plug, I've been in such a fab mood all day. It's lovely knowing that someone liked the blogs enough to nominate them.

In other Fat Frocks related news....
A company called FatPhRocks went on to Dragon's Den last night and pitched this-

Uuuuum, what? Anyway my stats have gone crazy because people have been searching for this and I've received loads of emails asking if I sell them. I DO NOT SELL THESE, sorry to disappoint you! All the emails have made me chuckle though.

Did anyone watch This Is Jinsy on Sky Atlantic last night? I'm not sure what I think about it, I love that David Tennant was in it but it was so weird!
I've been busy all week preparing for one of my best friends hen night this weekend and I've been making party packs for everyone, I will show you the packs and my 80s fancy dress later in the week. It's going to be rad, can't wait.

It's just another manic Monday (actually it's Tuesday...)

I have had a crazy few days which have included organising an event, applying for jobs, having an amazing impromptu night out (losing a whole night of memory due to lovely Norwegian vodka) and working until 7.30 most days. I'm so glad this week is a bit less crazy and I've had some time to do some shopping and make a start on the huge pile of books I need to read.

This is what I wore to work today-

Top - Peacocks
Skirt - Dorothy Perkins
Bracelet- Tia
Shoes - Dorothy Perkins
Bag - eBay

My big pile of books-

I'm trying to read more books written by Welsh authors at the moment, Submarine is amazing and I would really recommend it.What have you been reading recently?
Also is anyone watching Great British Bake Off? How cute is Rob? He can come and bake me a cake anytime he wants... Heat magazine seem to be thinking the same things as me too. I really like Joanne from Essex and I hope she is the winner. Jo has a blog here where she posts recipes of things that she has made on the show if you wanted to take a look.

Looking forward to a weekend without work and getting back on track. I've made quite a few lists of things I need to do before term starts again at the University.

Dot Cotton

It feels like I never do outfit posts anymore, I have been all over the place this summer though but things are starting to return to normal now and I will be back working at the university when term starts again. I've bought loads of new work wear and this dress is my favourite item I have bought recently. It is also the first size 16 dress I have bought since I was about 15. My size 16 joy only lasted a few minutes when I had to buy a 22 in H&M but its a nice feeling being able to walk in to shops and being able to look in the regular collections. The dress looks very purple in the picture but looks more brown in the flesh and the bottom half is pleated. I wouldn't normally wear leggings with this outfit but I have been out walking the dog and I hate doing it in tights.

Dress: New Look
Belt: New Look
Shoes: Peacocks
Ring: Evans
Nails: Shellac polish

I've got a nice weekend planned which includes a David Tennant DVD marathon and a friend cooking for me, lovely! I also have a very exciting announcement to make soon for all of you in Wales and the South West (or those willing to travel) I can't wait to tell you :)
Have you been out getting lots of new A/W wear? I always used early September to get clothes for the new term but I work at the uni instead of studying there now, feel so old!
